Artist's Comments

I did this one today! ^__^ Class went by SO fast today! I was shocked when it was over. My professor wanted us to create a composition that allowed the model to exist in a space that felt like it could be entered. He wanted us to clearly show our perspective and define the planes of her form as well as we could. I'm happy with most of it; the long leg is very stiff and because its cut off it's kind of odd compositionally. But yey - pretty head. (He told me earlier on in the drawing that it looked like generic barbie doll head but apparntly, I fixed it by the end of class because he likes it now.)

Hey, how come we all avoid the scraps, i think they're a more honest expression of an artist style and a chance to reverse-engineer the process, sooooo, give the scraps a chance people. [link] Hey, i look at yours

Just finished my figure drawing class, and I can definately appriciate this, and your other figure drawings - lots of good work - I'm wondering what scale you are working on? -whats size paper are you using?

Thank you for the watch and fav! :D This drawing is probably about 30"x40" or so? I don't have it here at my apartment but they are pretty big drawings. Most of the figures are around lifesize with some variation. Generally, I use printmaking paper like Arches or Strathmore and sometimes BFK Reves because I tend to get a little rough with the wet media and if the paper isn't thick enough I go through it. ^^;
